Today We Have The Pleasure To Have This Great Artist Here On Goathead!
GH: Hey Ron, great to have you here! What inspired you to start writing music?
Ron Jonez: I believe what inspired me to start writing was when I knew for sure, without a doubt, that I had a talent to sing and that music was what I wanted to do. I remember telling myself, I'm definitely going to write my own songs.
GH: Can you tell us more about your experience performing live at gigs and what was the most memorable experience you had?
Ron Jonez: In my experience performing at the few gigs where I performed, they were all great. I always got very good feedback from the audience, saying that I was good and that I should continue. My most memorable experience performing live was when the audience where I performed that night made a lot more noise than usual, clapping and cheering after I was done performing, and in another gig while I was performing at my high school, some girls ran up to the stage to touch me, I guess in awe of how good they thought I was.
GH: How is your process of songwriting set around?
Ron Jonez: My songwriting process is quite simple. I first start off by finding the right beat, then from there, if I like the beat, I sometimes immediately get an idea of what I want the song to be about based on the melodies of the beat, and then the lyrics just come to me.
GH: What motivates you to create music and bring awareness to different situations through your songs?
Ron Jonez: Knowing that I have a talent and believe that I was blessed with this gift for a reason, I oftentimes feel like I just can't sit there and do nothing about it. Not only that, but I also enjoy the whole process of finding a great beat, writing a song, and recording it. I believe that's what motivates me.
GH: Could you share some insights into your next projects?
Ron Jonez: I'm currently working on a few projects. One of them is a single called "Iz You Down" that I plan to release early next year, and other projects that I've already written are also in my plans to be released next year as well.
GH: What first got you into music?
Ron Jonez: I remember at a very young age, my mom would have me and my brothers stand in front of her like we were on stage at a talent show and would have us introduce ourselves and the song we were going to sing. That's what initially got me interested in music.
GH: Who are your biggest music influences?
Ron Jonez: Michael Jackson, Usher, Brian McKnight, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Tory Lanez, Trevor Jackson. Just to name a few.
GH: How would you describe the music that you typically create?
Ron Jonez: Although I typically create R&B/Soul songs, I sometimes also like creating pop, hip-hop, and rap music and sometimes mixing them together. So, you'll sometimes hear me singing on a hip-hop/Rap beat or rapping a verse on an R&B love song.
GH: Have you collaborated with any known artist?
Ron Jonez: Yes, I've had the opportunity to collaborate with two gold and platinum-selling American recording artists, Cassidy and Hurricane Chris, when I was previously signed with an independent label, GudEdit.
GH: What's next for you?
Ron Jonez: Just to keep creating great music. I'm focusing on my next single release, "Iz You Down," which I plan on releasing early next year. I think it'll be a successful release. Stay tuned.
