Today We Have The Pleasure To Have This Great Artist On Goathead

GH: Hi Noran, Great To Have You Here! Tell us about your musical journey and when you began to sing.

Noran: I have been singing since I was two years old. My parents recall me singing old Arabic songs to them, and often performing iconic live shows in our humble living room. When they discovered my talents, I immediately became part of the musical space. Often singing at events and choirs, I was always singing. When I turned 20, I discovered that you didn't need to be signed to a label in order to release music. Since then, I began my journey as an independent artist. Writing and recording songs in my bedroom, I'm able to create big impacts from small spaces.

GH: How did your early experiences with live performances shape your journey?

Noran: Since I had been performing live at a young age, I was comfortable being in similar settings as I got older. The most memorable performances for me were at my University's open mics called "Verbal Mayhem." This was one of the first spaces I was introduced to, where artists and creatives from any background were loved and accepted. I made so many friendships and long lasting memories that I will always keep with me.

GH: Can you describe your songwriting process?

Noran: My songwriting process has been pretty similar for all of my music. Typically, I get inspired by the beat rather than creating my lyrics first. I'll hear a track and fall in love with it, and then create lyrics around that. Sometimes I'll have a specific vision in mind and try to replicate it, but typically, I just do what feels right and trust my artistic intuition.

GH: What motivates you to continue creating music?

Noran: My main motivation for creating music is the joy I experience from sharing human connections. We tend to neglect our emotions and experiences, and I find that sharing music and being vulnerable with the world is the ultimate healing method. I love to create and don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

GH: Do you have any upcoming projects or releases?

Noran: I have been working on an album for the past couple of months, and plan to release another single from it sometime soon. My goal is to complete the album by the end of this year. I'm so excited for what's to come!
